This Privacy Policy explains how Moneta Capital Investment Limited (“Moneta”, “we”, “us”), operating the ETICO web and mobile trading service, collects, uses, shares, and protects your personal data. We act as a data controller under the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) 2023. Please read it alongside our Terms of Service.

2.Data we collect
We collect the following categories of personal data:
- Identity data: full name, BVN, your verification photo, next of kin details and mother’s maiden name, and identity details verified during KYC (such as date of birth, where you provided it).
- Contact data: email address, phone number, and residential address (where you provided it).
- Financial data: settlement bank account details, virtual account, wallet balance, holdings, orders, and transaction history.
- Account data: login credentials (stored hashed), KYC status, and account preferences.
- Technical data: device identifiers, IP address, app version, and usage/diagnostic logs.
3.How and why we use your data
We process your data on the legal bases set out below under the NDPA:

4.Who we share it with
We share personal data only as needed to run the service, and we do not sell it. Recipients include:

We require our processors to protect your data and to use it only for the purposes we specify.
5.Data security
We apply technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit, hashed credentials, access controls, and row-level security so that you can only access your own records. Sensitive secrets are held server-side and are never exposed to the browser or app client. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to reduce risk and to respond promptly to any incident.
6.Data retention
We keep your personal data for as long as your account is active and thereafter for the period required to meet our legal, regulatory, and record-keeping obligations (including anti-money-laundering and securities record rules), after which it is deleted or anonymised.
7.Your rights
Under the NDPA you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you;
- Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data;
- Request deletion where we are not legally required to retain it;
- Object to or restrict certain processing;
- Withdraw consent for marketing at any time; and
- Lodge a complaint with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.

8.Cookies and analytics
Our website uses strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and to secure your session, and limited analytics to understand usage and improve the service. You can control non-essential cookies through your browser settings.
9.Children
ETICO is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a minor has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
10.International transfers
Some of our processors may store or process data outside Nigeria. Where that happens, we take steps to ensure your data receives a level of protection consistent with the NDPA.
11.Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Where changes are material, we will give you reasonable notice. The “Last updated” date above reflects the current version.
